How to Become a Medical Esthetician

New. Exciting. Medical Esthetics.

Take your Esthetics license and turn it into a new, exciting career! The new kid on the beauty block is gaining recognition as well as clout in the Skin Care field: Medical Esthetics. This new beauty niche has taken Esthetics and added a medical element to it. How do you become a Medical Esthetician? It’s all in the training!

While an esthetics license can prepare professionals for performing basic treatments, such as salon and spa facials, estheticians can expand on their knowledge and work their way to Medical Esthetician with additional training. This does not require a separate license but rather training through a medical or plastic surgery office under doctor supervision. Medical estheticians perform a number of more complicated treatments and procedures, such as:

  • Chemical peels
  • Botox injections
  • Laser treatments
  • Microdermabrasion treatments
  • And more!
